Problem:
Business Insight needed an up to date and reliable vegetation map to improve their subsidence risk modelling as part of their national perils model
Solution:
The GeoInformation Group combined a number of databases it had created including urban vegetation, national land cover maps developed for the telecoms and public sector industries into a single cohesive national vegetation database and then calculated the vegetation cover at a sub postcode level.
Benefits:
Business Insight were able to go to market with the improved subsidence model and were able to validate this model against existing claims thanks to this national vegetation database.
