About National Building Class
National Building Class is a comprehensive residential building dataset that categorises dwellings by both age and building type. This unique database covers all urban centres with a population in excess of 10,000 population, amounting to the classification of over 60% of England, Scotland and Wales’ postcodes and totalling some 17.1 million addresses.
Property age classes range from pre-Georgian through to modern day and structural types span tall flats through to terraces and large detached houses.
National Building Class provides a detailed perspective of the urban environment for a wide range of applications from long term strategic planning, urban regeneration, crime reduction and direct marketing.

- Compatible with UKMap and Ordnance Survey mapping
- Data can be provided linked to national building polygons or in an address list format.
The address list format requires an appropriate PAF or OS Address product licence. - Raster and vector databases in industry standard formats
- Over 550 UK towns and Cities with over 10,000 population
